How do you access inside a 18m high dam wall at short notice and without putting your workers at risk of working at height and confined spaces?

The Benchmark Design and Engineering Team completed a risk assessment on the scope of works and designed the scaffolding so it could be installed horizontally on the ground and simply lifted vertically in inside the concrete structure.

This not only eliminated all working at heights and confined space risks, but the scaffolding could be installed in only a fraction of the time of traditional methods.

This project highlighted the importance of pre-planning and the design phase of any project. With an experienced design team and a site crew that can think outside the box, the schedule and cost can be reduced, and the safety increased.
