Queensland scaffolders to set new heights

Queensland’s number one industrial scaffolding company, Benchmark Scaffolding, has been appointed the Official Scaffolding Supplier for GC2018.

The first North Queensland based business to join the GC2018 Sponsor Family, Benchmark will perform critical works to venues ensuring they’re Games ready.

GOLDOC’S overlay program is currently in full swing with venues starting to transform into elite sporting hubs, ready to welcome athletes and spectators from around the Commonwealth.

Benchmark’s Managing Director Simon Boyes said the business with offices in Townsville and Yatala, would deliver scaffold services from design through to build across 17 Games competition venues.

“It’s great that our local Queensland business, can showcase its expertise at an international event, here, in our own backyard,” Mr Boyes said.

“Each venue overlay is different, but our works will include the construction of cable bridges, platforms, access ramps and special project structures to help broadcasters cover the Games and patrons enjoy the experience.

“We’re hiring an additional 20-30 local labourers project managers, draftsmen and a safety officer to support the delivery of the project.

“Our whole team is excited about being a part of delivering the Games and we’re looking forward to see the venues profiled to a massive broadcast audience from 4–15 April.”
